Super Visa for Parent / Grandparent
The Super Visa is a type of visitor visa that allows parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens or permanent residents to visit Canada for extended periods of time. It is valid for up to 10 years and allows multiple entries to Canada during this period.
To be eligible for the Super Visa, you must be the parent or grandparent of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, and you must have a child or grandchild in Canada who is willing to sponsor you. In addition, you will need to meet certain other requirements, such as:
1. Having a valid passport
2. Being in good health
3. Having adequate financial support for your stay in Canada
4. Having a letter of invitation from your child or grandchild in Canada
5. Having a Canadian medical insurance policy that covers you for at least one year
To apply for the Super Visa, you will need to complete an online application form and submit it to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), along with supporting documents such as a passport, proof of financial support, and a letter of invitation. You may also need to provide biometric information, such as fingerprints and a photograph.
If your application is approved, you will receive a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) that will allow you to enter Canada as a visitor. The TRV will be valid for up to 10 years, or the expiry date of your passport, whichever comes first. During this time, you will be able to stay in Canada for up to two years at a time without the need to apply for an extension.
