OPEN WORK PERMIT

An open work permit is a type of work permit that allows the holder to work for any employer in Canada. It is not tied to a specific job or employer, and the holder is free to work for any employer in any location in Canada.

Open work permits are typically issued to certain groups of people, such as:

  1. Spouses or common-law partners of skilled workers or international students

  2. International students who have completed their studies

  3. Refugees and refugee claimants

  4. Young workers participating in international exchange programs

  5. Certain temporary foreign workers who are unable to obtain a work permit that is tied to a specific employer

It's important to note that an open work permit does not guarantee permanent residence in Canada. If you want to apply for permanent residence, you will need to meet the eligibility requirements and apply through the appropriate program.
