LMIA BASED WORK PERMIT

A Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) is a document that an employer in Canada may need to obtain before hiring a foreign worker. The LMIA is used to assess the impact that the hiring of a foreign worker would have on the Canadian labor market.
If you are a foreign worker who has been offered a job in Canada and your employer is required to get an LMIA before hiring you, you will need to apply for a work permit based on the LMIA. This means that your employer will need to submit an LMIA application to Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC), and once the LMIA is approved, you can apply for a work permit using the positive LMIA as part of your application.

To apply for a work permit based on an LMIA, you will need to gather all the necessary documents and information, including:
•    A copy of the positive LMIA issued by ESDC
•    A job offer letter from your employer in Canada
•    Proof of your identity and your work experience
•    Any other documents required by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)

It's important to note that the process of applying for a work permit based on an LMIA can be complex and may take several weeks or months to complete.
